Don’t Let Me Down

I’m in love for the first time.
Don’t you know it’s gonna last.
It’s a love that lasts forever,
It’s a love that has no past.
Don’t let me down, don’t let me down.
Live versions are always better. Enjoy.

Architectures of Delight
Opening Reception: Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) School of Design and Arts, College of Saint Benilde
January 21, 2010
“Extra-muros, architecture of delight” is an exhibit originally produced and designed from a catalogue of photographs and critics of contemporary architecture, coordinated by the Institut francias d’architecture. The exhibition focused on architecture in tune with current urban situations, territorial or program-related issues that are relevant throughout the world. The juxtaposition of the 40 projects presented says that “good” architecture isn’t as rare as it seems and that if we do not see it that its surely because it isn’t where we expect it, because it’s simpler, more modest or simply less preoccupied with its durability then we imagine.
For those who missed the opening night, feel free to stop by the MCAD (ground floor) The exhibit is open till February

Exhibit Number One

Jujiin Samonte’s “Exhibit Number One”
If the unconventional manner of which one dresses is tantamount to the many creative visual possibilities that one can do, then Jujiin Samonte’s “Exhibit Number One” is an event NOT to be missed.
The 27-year-old style savant and blogger Jujiin Samonte is a self-taught photographer and stylist, currently dabbling in videography. He has been cited in various publications, blogs and websites (both local and international) for his unique individual style. Having grown up during the 90s, Jujiin lists then-designer Cecile Zamora, labels Warp and Milkwear, the Candy Kids sub-culture, the Spice Girls, and Japanese fashion magazine Fruits as his influences. In photography, he likes the unglamorous approach of tandem Inez & Vinoodh, and admires the clean, strong photographs by Hedi Slimane. In fashion, he looks up to the works of stylist Panos Yiapanis and creative director Nicola Formichetti.
Jujiin first started taking photos for the purpose of posting what his eyes see on his blog. His pictures caught the attention of designer Puey Quinones, who hired Jujiin to shoot his RTW line Vado. Designer Rajo Laurel then collaborated with the young photographer for the visuals of his Rajo Red gala show in 2008. Since then, Jujiin’s works—both photography and styling—have appeared in the pages of Imagine, Garage, Stella, Lifestyle Asia, The Philippine Star’s Supreme, The Philippine Daily Inquirer and Manila Bulletin. He was also recently featured in the urban culture magazine Status, identifying the artist as “an avant-garde by nature.”
“Exhibit Number One” is Jujiin Samonte’s first celebratory display of selected photos he has taken, both old and new. His idiosyncratic works and eccentric visions will be put on view in a deconstructed parade that is as provocative and stirring as the way he sees and presents fashion.
“Exhibit Number One” is on January 29, Friday, 7PM, at Trilogy Boutique & Canteen, located at 110 Alvion Center, Rada Street, Legaspi Village, Makati City. “Exhibit No. 1” also marks Trilogy’s first in-store event for the year 2010.

Btw. My dog, Homer was sound asleep the whole time! Thank God.

Im starting the year of with pursuing yoga. I didn’t really list down any goals as I usually do. This year Im going to take things slowly and surely. In 2009 I rushed through a lot of things, and I pretty much missed a lot as well! I want to focus on daily improvement. Who’s with me!?

Happy Holidays!!!
I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. I know its been a while, but Im back. For the month of november and december I’ve been caught up with dancing. Although it took up so much, maybe too much of my time, I couldn’t be happier about it. Its been a while since I had the opportunity to perform/compete again! Here are some updates:

I was honestly very surprised (in a good way) with our performance. I am so proud of everyone. Team Elite, I miss all of you, dearly. I can’t wait for whats to come. Lots of love.
After the competition I went to an Arts-Ma Xmas party, then I caught up with my good friends from high school at GB, then I stopped by Al’s Bar to say hello to a few friends. I had an 8AM flight the next day, so I rushed home before mid-night because I didn’t even pack yet! Phew.
122009-122609: Hong Kong
The trip was filled with chinese food, shopping, treats for the kiddies, shopping and lots of walking. I bagged some camera goodies for a very-very good price. I’ll put up some photos in a new post sometime soon.
